The video of the alleged assault went viral on social media.

A Groblersdal resident, Corrie Pretorius (50), appeared in the Groblersdal Magistrates’ Court today, facing charges of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and the pointing of a firearm, after an altercation with a 16-year old at Fat Cake City during a confrontation over seasoning.

A TikTok video posted online shows Pretorius seemingly assaulting the teenager in the parking lot outside the food outlet.
