Gunmen kill SUV driver in Midrand ambush
A man was gunned down in his vehicle on a busy street, with the shooters fleeing in a blue Toyota Corolla.
An unknown number of people driving a blue Toyota Corolla shot and killed the driver of a Toyota SUV in Noordwyk, Midrand, yesterday.
Midrand Reporter reports that the incident happened at around 14:42 when residents reportedly heard gunshots.
Although the motive of the shooting is not yet known, the suspects are believed to have used an AK-47 rifle before fleeing the scene.
Dillon Maduray from Ria Sebetsa Security Service says the attackers in a Blue Toyota Corolla ambushed the victim, who was in a white Fortuner SUV.
“As he was about to pass the blue Corolla, the suspects opened fire on him. This happened on Kiaat Street and Liebenberg Road,” says Maduray.
He says the victim passed away.
The motive for the killing remains unknown, and the suspects are still at large.
