Heavy duty trucks collide on N12 in Alberton (video)

Two heavy-duty trucks were involved in a crash on the N12 highway in Alberton this morning, causing a traffic pile-up.

It was alleged the crash occurred after the tyre of one of the trucks burst, Witbank News reported.

The driver allegedly slowed to pull up when another truck crashed into him.

Langamed Emergency Management paramedics said when they arrived on the scene they found the entire roof of one of the trucks smashed.

“It looks much worse than it is,” said a bystander on the scene.

Both truck drivers were reportedly unharmed after the incident.

Major delays are expected; if possible, use alternative an route, paramedics said.

In October, The massive collision involving a heavy-duty truck and about 50 other vehicles claimed two lives.

It was alleged a truck plowed into traffic on the N12 in Alberton, closing the highway.

The truck allegedly lost control due to mechanical failure and piled on to about 22 cars.
