Here are the expected petrol prices for January

January may bring slight fuel price relief, with Petrol 95 and diesel seeing small decreases, while Petrol 93 is set to rise again.

With 2025 just around the corner, motorists are looking ahead to January, hoping the new year will bring some relief to petrol prices.

December’s increase was larger than initially expected, but Middelburg Observer reports January is predicted to see several decreases, albeit marginal.

Diesel 0.05%, Diesel 0.005%, and Petrol 95 are currently estimated to experience price cuts. However, Petrol 93 is expected to increase slightly.

Please note that these forecasted decreases are minimal. Illuminating paraffin is set to see the biggest change, with a 15-cent decline.

January’s expected petrol and diesel price changes:

  • Petrol 93: 7 cents per litre increase
  • Petrol 95: 1 cent per litre decrease
  • Diesel 0.05%: 5 cents per litre decrease
  • Diesel 0.005%: 3 cents per litre decrease
  • Illuminating paraffin: 15 cents per litre decrease

  • Petrol 93: R21.15
  • Petrol 95: R21.47
  • Diesel 0.05%: R19.21
  • Diesel 0.005%: R19.33
  • Illuminating paraffin: R13.36
Coastal:
  • Petrol 93: R20.36
  • Petrol 95: R20.68
  • Diesel 0.05%: R18.42
  • Diesel 0.005%: R18.57
  • Illuminating paraffin: R12.36
