Hunt on after Pretoria businessman murdered in home

His body was found with his hands tied and it is suspected that he was strangled to death.

Police are perusing several unknown suspects who tied up and murdered a 59-year-old man before fleeing the scene.

The man has been identified as Khoorash Dawood by social activist, Yusuf Abramjee.

The gruesome crime occurred in the early hours of yesterday in Erasmia on the outskirts of Centurion, Tshwane.

Dawood’s vehicle, a white Mercedes Benz, was reportedly found dumped on 19th Avenue in Laudium after the murder.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi preliminary reports indicate that the victim was discovered dead, and his house ransacked.

“His hands were found tied behind [him].”

Abramjee tweeted that he was strangled to death.

Nevhuhulwi says police are still investigating, however, there was no indication of forced entry at the residence.

“At this stage, it cannot be confirmed if anything else was stolen besides the vehicle which has been recovered in Laudium.”

She pleaded with anyone who had information that could assist the police to contact their nearest police station or the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111.

She says anonymous tip-offs could also be reported on MySapsApp.

“All information received will be treated as strictly confidential.”
