Info sought after Mossel Bay township shootings leave 2 hospitalised
Two men are recovering in hospital after separate shootings in KwaNonqaba, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
The police in KwaNonqaba, Mossel Bay, are investigating two attempted murder cases that occurred just after midnight yesterday.
Mossel Bay Advertiser reports that Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, the station spokesperson, says it is unclear if the two incidents are related or what their circumstances are.
Kapp adds that just before 00:20, police were called to Stofile Street in KwaNonqaba and found a 31-year-old man lying in the yard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is recovering.
About 20 minutes later, several people brought a 32-year-old man they had found lying in Makhubalo Street with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body to the KwaNonqaba Community Service Centre. He was also rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is recovering.
It is unclear if the two men know each other. Kapp says the suspect(s) are unknown. Anyone with information about the shootings should call the investigating officer, Sergeant Malungisa Kakaza, on 044 606 5619.
