IPID investigates policeman accused of killing wife in Mpumalanga

A policeman is expected to appear in court after being arrested in connection with his wife's murder following a shooting.

Shockwaves rocked the community of Siyathuthuka in the Nkangala District of Mpumalanga after news broke that a policeman was arrested in connection with the murder of his wife.

According to Middelburg Observer, his arrest follows after his wife was killed in a shooting on Friday night.

He will be appearing in the Belfast Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The policeman’s name cannot be mentioned, as he has not appeared in court yet.

The case was handed over to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID). “IPID confirms that the police officer allegedly involved in this incident was arrested and he will be appearing in court on Tuesday,” says IPID spokesperson Phaladi Shuping.
