#KeepTheFactsGoing Episode 14: Myths about 5G technology
Join Africa Check on a fact-checking journey with its #KeepTheFactsGoing series! Each week we’ll show you how to get your facts in order before you share something online - in English and isiZulu.

In Episode 14, Africa Check puts myths about 5G technology under the microscope.
The radio waves that power 5G are on the lower end of the radiation spectrum. They are in a category known as non-ionising radiation.
This type of radiation can heat objects (like a microwave), but there is no evidence it causes cancer like ionising radiation (such as gamma rays or x-rays).
Claims that 5G somehow causes or spreads Covid-19 have been widely debunked by fact-checkers and many credible sources such as the World Health Organization.
Scientists have said the idea of a connection between Covid-19 and 5G is “complete rubbish” and biologically impossible.
