KwaDukuza ANC regional secretary Musa Zondi convicted of murder and kidnapping in KZN

The party announced that Zondi will be taking a leave of absence from all activities in the ANC.

KwaDukuza ANC regional secretary Musa Zondi has been found guilty of murder and kidnapping, North Coast Courier reports.

The verdict was passed at the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday.

While details of the case are still to be confirmed it is believed that the crimes were committed after a break-in at Zondi’s family business in 2015.

The controversial young leader (33) is also the secretary of the KwaDukuza ANC Youth League.

In his capacity as ANCYL secretary he was the voice behind numerous local demonstrations, including throwing accusations of racism against Umhlali Prepand violent protests at the Ballito Junction and KwaDukuza Private Hospital.

ANC KZN provincial Secretary Mdumunseni Ntuli said the party would not question the court’s decision as they believed in justice.

“While having one of its members arrested for such a serious transgression is disappointing and regrettable, the ANC however, believes in equality and justice.

“This requires that justice be meted out without fear or favour.

“This development is a clarion call for the ANC to exercise more firmness in the discipline and conduct of its members.”

The party announced that Zondi will be taking a leave of absence from all activities in the ANC.

Zondi is still to be sentenced.
