KZN man pleads guilty to girlfriend’s murder
Sholin Bissoon, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Kimeera Rajbunsi earlier this year, has pleaded guilty in the Durban High Court.
Bissoon had handed himself over to the police and later led them to a sugarcane field where he dumped Rajbunsi’s body, Phoenix Sunreported.
Rajbunsi (18) had been reported missing on March 3. She was last seen at her residence in Phoenix, in the north of Durban at the time.
It was believed that Bissoon had hit the victim on her head with a frying pan, and stabbed her multiple times in the chest before loading her body into his father’s vehicle.
In a plea statement read out in court on Friday, Bissoon admitted to attacking Rajbunsi at her home on the morning of March 3, after reading parts of her diary, in which she apparently admitted to having feelings for someone else.
Bissoon was remanded to Westville Prison until the sentencing, which is expected to take place in April next year.
Last month, a man was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment by the Northern Cape High Court for the murder of his wife.
The man, Rankadi Emmanuel Tsilo, and his wife, Anna Tsilo, reportedly had a fight in their shack on March 8, during which Tsilo assaulted and stabbed her.
