KZN river drowning victims’ bodies recovered

The families of two men who were swept away in a river after a cleansing ceremony can now have closure after their loved ones’ bodies were found.

The bodies of the two men who drowned in the uMvoti River in Groutville, KZN, on Wednesday have been found.

The first body was discovered on Friday, while the second was recovered yesterday.

The two men, aged 23 and 27, were at the river with a traditional healer for a cleansing ritual. It is believed that after the ritual, they decided to go for a swim and were swept away.

Since the incident, various rescue teams have worked together tirelessly to find the them and bring closure to their families.
