#KZNFLOODS: Local bikers to the rescue

The bikers brought food and water among other supplies to the Upper Highway community.

This Easter weekend local bikers participated on a drive out to offer much-needed help and hope to the Shongweni Valley and Upper Highway community, which was left isolated and severely impacted by the floods.

According to a resident Ursula and Terrence Havemann, the bikers brought food and water among other supplies. They entered the isolated area through the rail line and up to Stonehaven Castle.

The residents said, “It was very humbling and an honour meeting such selfless and caring people. Your spirit of Ubuntu, neighbourly love, kindness, generosity and compassion goes above and beyond.”

During this trying period, the motorcyclists took time out of their hectic schedules to offer their hearts and wallets to aid strangers.

The community of Shongweni is extremely grateful to the bikers for this act of kindness.
