Large-scale search for missing Mpumalanga man
A drone and aeroplane are assisting in the search for Pieter Skead who went missing yesterday evening.
Community members, law enforcement agencies and security companies in White River, Mpumalanga have joined forces with the Skead family to find Pieter Skead who went missing yesterday evening.
Skead was last seen yesterday at around 17:30 leaving his yard wearing brown trousers, a blue check shirt and no jacket. He left on foot and never returned.
According to the search leader, Bruce Macaulay, the search was launched soon after Skead went missing. Community members were alerted and were soon joined by AfriForum, local security companies and the SAPS K9 unit.
“We also have a team searching from the air with an aeroplane and drone as we might encounter problems on the ground. We are hoping to find him before sunset. We have people on foot and in vehicles driving around looking for him.
“We are calling on anyone who might have seen him walking in the street in a confused state or being picked up by a car, to contact us. We have already searched all medical centres, public areas and plantations and there still is no sign of him, so any clues that can assist us and the family in locating him will be highly appreciated,” says Macaulay.
The Skead family urges anyone who might have seen him to contact Macaulay on 079 883 7806, or to alert the search team at the Engen filling station in Parkville.
