Learners injured in KZN accident

Metro police have urged parents to ensure that their children are transported to school in roadworthy vehicles.

Several learners from Doon Heights Primary School were rushed to hospital after a minibus that was transporting them to school left the road and plunged into a ditch in Shulton Park, KZN, this morning.

eThekwini Metro Police spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu says the accident happened on Longacres Drive, near the school.

“Several children have been injured and are receiving medical attention,” says Zungu.

Zungu urges parents and guardians to ensure their children are transported in roadworthy vehicles.

“Drivers must also exercise extreme care, especially when transporting learners. Our thoughts are with the injured, and we wish them a speedy recovery,” he says.
