Lebombo Border Post congestion a serious threat
Haulers, drivers and the Komatipoort business community are looking for answers regarding the current N4 traffic congestion at the Lebombo Border Post.
The situation has been describe as threat to life and income, and the situation is in dire need of ministerial intervention.
The Komatipoort Business Chamber said in a statement over the weekend that drivers, truck owners and the local community are frustrated beyond measure about the current situation at the border post.
A lack of movement costs the hauliers millions. Entering and exiting the town, as well as driving the last 10 kilometres to the border post, constitutes life risks.
The chamber has requested a meeting with the following institutions and hope they will have answers and procure solutions: the Border Management Authority, Provincial Traffic, TRAC, representatives of the hauliers and the Komatipoort Special Economic Zone development manager.
A serious of enquiries had been forward to all parties concerned and Corridor Gazette will rapport on this as the situation develops.
