Life imprisonment for Free State father who raped his daughter (6)
A 45-year-old man was sentenced after the court found him guilty of raping his young daughter when her mother went to work.
The Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday found a 45-year-old man guilty of raping his six-year-old daughter.
Bloemfontein Courant reports that according to police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring, the incident occurred last year September when the girl was at home eating after school. “Her mother went back to work, leaving her with her father lying on the bed. After she left, the father went to the child while sitting on the sofa. He closed her mouth with his hand and raped her. He ordered her not to tell anyone about the incident,” Mmako explains.
Mophiring adds that days later the victim complained about her painful thighs to her mother, who called on a family member which led to the truth being discovered. “She was then taken to the local doctor for examination, where it was discovered that indeed she was raped. Her biological father was arrested and charged with rape.”
The court found him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
