Light snowfall expected over parts of Gauteng
The South African Weather Services confirmed on Monday afternoon that light snowfall is expected for Tuesday evening over parts of Johannesburg.

Forecaster Lulama Phemem said the snowfall will be caused by the intense cold fronts that hit Gauteng over the past weekend.
“There is a possibility of very light snow across parts of Johannesburg on Tuesday this week, as well as around Sutherland in the Northern Cape,” said Phemem.
“Residents of Johannesburg should expect snowfall from 15:00 in the afternoon. However, it may arrive earlier than the expected time mentioned.
“The weather is set to take a turn for the worse on Tuesday before temperatures then plummet later on Wednesday. Higher peaks and mountainous regions are likely to receive modest snowfalls.
“It is important to note that while conditions are conducive to possible snowfall, this does not mean snow will fall in all areas of Gauteng.
“The snow might even move to parts of Centurion.
It is not known for how long the snow will fall.
“We are also expecting seasonal rainfall this upcoming week after the snow has fallen,” Phemem concluded.
