Limpopo educator in court for killing three people
The police in Limpopo have sent a stern warning to community members, particularly men, to stop resorting to violence in domestic disputes.
A 58-year-old Bothashoek man, accused of killing three people on September 25, appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Wednesday.
Wilfred Nkadimeng, an educator at Tswelopele Primary School, faces three counts of murder. He was remanded in custody, with the matter being postponed to October 12 for a formal bail application.
Nkadimeng was arrested for allegedly killing his wife, daughter and the wife’s alleged boyfriend at their home in Bothashoek, Dithabaneng village.
“Police were called to the scene by community members at about 23:00. Upon arrival they discovered three lifeless bodies of two females and a male with gunshot wounds. The suspect was later traced and arrested,” said Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafelo Mojapelo.
Mojapelo said two of the deceased were identified as Themina Clara Morema (42) and her daughter Nomasonto Morema aged (24). The man’s identity is still unknown.
The provincial commissioner of SAPS in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, sent a stern warning to community members, particularly men, to stop resorting to violence in domestic disputes.
“The incident is horrific and shocking. We urge community members to seek help when they encounter domestic challenges and desist from resorting to extreme violence,” said Hadebe.
The Limpopo SAPS highlighted that the motive for the incident was unknown but domestic violence cannot be ruled out. SAPS investigations continue.
