Limpopo police commissioner calls for speedy investigation following brutal murders of two men

The police say these 'faceless killers' will be hunted down and brought to book.

LIMPOPO – An apparent mob justice incident at Madiseng village in the Tubatse policing area has left two men dead. The incident whereby the victims sustained severe injuries to the upper body, is reported to have happened in the early hours of Tuesday (August 3).

Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said the police received a report about the attack on two men and rushed to the scene to find the deceased men on the ground, surrounded by members of the community.

He explained that the hands of the victims were bound with electric cables and both sustained multiple wounds to their heads and legs.

“One of the deceased was positively identified by a relative at the scene, as 37-year-old Putana Mahlaki. The identity of the other man is unknown,” Mojapelo explained.

He said the motive for the incident is unknown at this stage but mob justice cannot be ruled out. Investigations into the double murder still continue.
