Lion escapee guided back to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park

A lion that escaped from a game reserve in KZN and is reported to have killed two cows has been coerced back into the reserve.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has confirmed that the lion that escaped from Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park was successfully guided back into the game reserve this morning.

Ezemvelo spokesperson Musa Mntambo told the Zululand Observer that the lion was led in through the fence with impala bait.

The animal was spotted around the Ocilwane area in KwaMthethwa on Saturday and is reported to have killed two cows, the carcasses of which were discovered on Monday.
