Load-shedding remains suspended for now
You don’t have to get out the candles yet, South Africa, because the electricity is set to stay on for at least the next 28 hours.
The continued suspension of load-shedding until 16:00 tomorrow is due to sufficient emergency generation reserves and today’s anticipated evening peak demand of 27 482MW.
Thereafter:
- Stage 1 load-shedding will resume on Wednesday from 16:00 until 05:00 on Thursday.
- Load-shedding will then be suspended until 16:00 on Thursday.
This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice. Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur.
