Load-shedding to be suspended at noon

Eskom has revised its planned load-shedding schedule for the weekend.

Eskom has announced some load-shedding reprieve for the day with rolling power cuts set to be suspended from 12:00.

Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says the suspension is a result of an improvement in the availability of generation capacity and ‘adequate emergency reserves’.

“Load-shedding will be suspended at 12:00 until 17:00. Stage 2 load-shedding will resume at 17:00 [and continue] until 21:00. Thereafter, load-shedding will be suspended again from 21:00 today until 16:00 on Sunday,” she explains.

Mokwena says the power utility will tomorrow afternoon publish the week’s load-shedding outlook, and communicate should any significant changes occur.
