Load-shedding update: Stages 2 and 4 implemented daily

Higher stages of power cuts were implemented after seven units broke down over the past 24 hours.

Eskom says that load-shedding stage 2 will be implemented from 05:00 to 16:00 daily, followed by stage 4 from 16:00 until 05:00, until further notice.

The power utility says that higher stages of power cuts needed to be implemented after several generating units were taken offline for repairs over the past 24 hours. Stages 1 and 3 load-shedding were previously implemented.

Generating units at Duvha, Kendal and Majuba power stations were returned to service while breakdowns at Camden, Kendal, Kriel, Kusile and Matla and two units at Matimba, occurred.

Eskom says it will publish an update as soon as any changes occur.
