Eskom implements Stage 2 loadshedding until Friday
Eskom appeals to the public to reduce the usage of electricity.
Eskom has announced that it will be implementing Stage 2 loadshedding from today (Wednesday) at 10am until Friday, June 4 at 10pm.
This is due to further breakdowns of generating units at Majuba and Arnot power stations, as well as delays in returning units to service at Arnot and Tutuka power stations.
Breakdowns currently total 13 601MW of capacity, while another 1 330MW is unavailable due to planned maintenance. Eskom teams are working on returning generation units to service, as well as replenishing the emergency reserves.
