Man discovered shot and killed in his car in Kempton Park

The motive for the murder is unknown as valuables like a cellphone, wallet and laptop were not taken.

The body of a 38-year-old man, riddled with bullet wounds, was found dead in his vehicle in Birch Acres on July 25. Police are asking the public to assist with information.

Sergeant Barbara-Anne Ferreira, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, says the man was found by police officers.

“Norkem Park SAPS members were patrolling the area when they noticed a silver-grey Hyundai, with its headlights on, parked in Isimuku Street,” says Ferreira.

“He was found in the driver’s seat. There was a bullet hole in the driver’s window and the man had suffered multiple bullet wounds to his upper body.”

The man was certified dead by paramedics.

Ferreira says that 13 cartridges were found at the scene.

“The motive for the murder is not known. A cellphone, wallet and laptop were also found on the scene.

“The body was taken to Germiston Mortuary and a case of murder is under investigation.
