In the early hours of the morning, paramedics responded to the scene of a man who had been fatally shot in the head in Greyville.

Paramedics this morning responded to the scene of yet another shooting incident in Greyville, Durban, where a man had been fatally shot in the head. This just a day after seven people were shot in the Durban CBD, sustaining minor to moderate injuries.

In the latest shooting incident, ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says paramedics responded to the scene at around 06:00.

“At around 06:00, ALS Paramedics responded to a shooting incident which had occurred on Kent Road off Stamford Hill Road in the Greyville area of Durban.”

Jamieson says that on arrival, paramedics found that SAPS had cornered off the area.

“Paramedics found that a male, believed to be a suspect, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for the injured man, and he was declared deceased at the scene,” he explains.

According to the paramedic, at this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, and SAPS will be investigating further.
