Man fatally stabbed in uMhlanga while waiting for lift
The man had a single stab wound in his chest and died as a result of his injury.
Durban North police have opened a case of murder after a man was fatally wounded in a stabbing near the N2/M41 pedestrian bridge in uMhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday night.
It is believed the man, who is in his 20s, worked at a call centre in the area.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, the man was waiting for his transport when he was attacked.
“ER24 Paramedics arrived on the scene at 19:50 to find a man lying on the pavement, surrounded by a number of his relatives. Medics quickly assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to the stab wound to his chest. Nothing more could be done for him, and he was declared dead,” he said.
Meiring added the exact details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
Durban North SAPS spokesperson Nonhlanhla Shozi confirmed a case of murder had been opened at the station.
