Man gunned down at Gauteng petrol station
The 40-year-old man is alleged to have been involved in a physical dispute with another man that resulted in the shooting.
Seeiso Thinane (40) was gunned down during an altercation at the Global Petrol Station in Sharpeville, Gauteng, last week.
According to his sister, Mamello Hlabane (36), Thinane was shot multiple times by an unknown man.
“Seeiso’s friends arrived in the evening to alert us that he had been shot. I rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, when I got there, he was already dead.
“We don’t know the full story, but we are told that Seeiso had beaten up a guy, and the guy’s friend retaliated by shooting at him. My brother is said to have begged for forgiveness, but the shooter just carried on shooting until my brother lost his life. They fled the scene afterward.”
The family now seeks justice following the incident.
“We are broken by how Seeiso lost his life, and we would like to see the perpetrators brought to book and justice served.
“Seeiso leaves three kids behind, with the youngest child being just six-months-old. These have been robbed of the love of a father. It is even worse because the youngest one will never know her father.”
The family said that funeral arrangements are underway, adding that they hope to bury the deceased on Saturday.
Gauteng police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale confirmed that a murder case docket was opened for investigation.
