Man in court for teen’s murder in Knysna
Western Cape police are investigating a murder case after a young woman who was stabbed multiple times died in hospital.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old young woman in Knysna earlier this week, reports Knysna-Plett Herald.
The death was confirmed by police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies, who said the young woman succumbed to multiple stab wounds after being found at a house near Concordia Road in Concordia.Knysna police opened a murder docket after she died at Knysna Provincial Hospital on Tuesday, at about 11:20.
“Reports available at this stage indicate that police were summoned to a house near Concordia Road in Concordia. Upon arrival, members found the woman with multiple stab wounds to the back, neck, stomach and arms,” said Spies.
She was rushed to hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The suspect appeared in the Knysna Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
He remains in custody.
The case was postponed for a formal bail application next week, while investigations continue.
