In the second shocking murder-suicide in KZN in 48 hours, a 24-year-old man stabbed his 22-year-old girlfriend and three-year-old son to death before killing himself. The incident follows days after the murder of a young woman by her partner, who then hanged himself.

Umkomaas police are investigating two counts of murder and have opened an inquest docket after the most recent incident.

The incident occurred in the Danganya area in Umgababa and is suspected to have happened last night (December 19).

The bodies were recovered by police this morning.

Earlier this week, a man in Malangeni (near Umzinto) stabbed his partner Nontobeko Cele to death. Sbusiso Lawrence confessed to the murder on video before committing suicide.

Cele’s family learned of her death from the video, that has since gone viral.
