Man stabbed and killed in N4 spiking ambush

A man was ambushed and killed near Donkerhoek after the tyres of his vehicle were damaged in a spiking incident last night.

A man was stabbed and killed last night during a deadly spiking incident on the N4 near Donkerhoek.

The motorist was reportedly stabbed after his vehicle’s tyres were damaged after driving over metal spikes that had been put on the highway.

The incident happened at around 22:00 and he passed away on the scene.

Motorists have been warned to limit travel time on the N4 to daylight hours after several spiking incident have been reported on the route in the past.

Motorists falling victim to spike-strip gangs have been warned not to stop, but to rather proceed slowly to where it is safe.
