Mark Lifman murder: George court denies bail

The two men accused of murdering Mark Lifman are due to again appear in court next month.

The George Magistrate’s Court this afternoon denied bail for Johannes Jacobs and Gert Bezuidenhout who are accused of murdering Cape Town underworld figure Mark Lifman at the Garden Mall on November 3 last year.

According to an article published by George Herald, in his judgement, Magistrate André Aucamp said their release on bail would not be in the interest of justice, nor could he find any exceptional circumstances to justify bail.

The case has been postponed until February 20 for further investigation as the state is still waiting for cellphone analyses and ballistic reports.
