Mbombela anaesthetist’s murder: 3 appear in court, 1 sought

The Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court have charged three men with robbery and the murder of Dr Nicholas Procter, while a fourth man is sought.

The three accused of the murder of Mbombela anaesthetist Dr Nicholas Procter have been named as Bheki Ndlovu (38), Nkateko Tshidzumba (24) and Siyabonga Kekana (20).

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli says these men were apprehended in Protea Glen, Gauteng, on Monday.

They appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court yesterday, and were charged with Procter’s murder and robbery.

During the court appearance, the state said that a fourth suspect is still being sought. The matter has been postponed to February 14 for a bail application. The state said it intends to oppose the bail.

Procter’s body was found with his hand and feet tied – in a flat that was run as a vacation rental unit – in the Mopani block of Green Valley Estate on the afternoon of February 1.

Procter was first reported missing when he did not show up for work at Mediclinic Nelspruit that morning.
