A young Newcastle man was found dead along the N11 between Newcastle and Volksrust yesterday.

According to authorities, the man had purchased a new vehicle on Sunday and was on his way home back to Newcastle when he was presumably hijacked.

He was reported missing and a plea for his safe return was circulated on social media.

However, the search for the missing young man came to a devastating end.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear at this stage and will remain subject to further police investigation.
