A 46-year-old woman was killed in front of her three-year-old toddler in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, last week.

The woman was allegedly murdered by her 35-year-old partner on December 28 in Clewer Park.

When members of the Vosman police arrived at around 22:30 they found a female victim, well-known to them, lying on the ground bleeding profusely and her partner in the process of committing suicide using a knife.

The little boy was sitting next to his mother’s body crying and begging her to wake up.

All role players were summoned to the scene and the victim as well as the suspect were declared dead.

According to witnesses, they heard screams from the room where the couple stayed before the tragedy occurred.

Police urged the community to seek help if they experience any type of social problems before emotions reach a boiling point and incidents like these happen.

“All relevant help is available to circumvent all forms of violence,” said Captain Elizabeth Hlathi, spokesperson of Vosman Police Station.
