Motorist shot dead after minor collision in Kempton Park
Disturbing footage shows a man running from a scene before he was shot in the back, with few details about the incident currently available.
A motorist was shot dead after a minor collision in Kempton Park yesterday afternoon (September 16), with footage appearing to show the man running from the scene before being shot in the back.
The footage, sent to Andre Snyman from eBlockWatch, shows the man lying on his back as pedestrians walk past his body and vehicles continue travelling along the road.
The Kempton Express reports that the man was taking photographs of the vehicles involved in the collision when an argument allegedly broke out.
A firearm was reportedly produced during the confrontation before the man was shot as he tried to leave. He died a short distance from where the shooting occurred.
According to Snyman, little information is currently available about the incident, but he expects more details to emerge as police continue their investigation.
“This is not normal behaviour from a road rage incident,” he says.
The shooting comes as police continue investigating the discovery of the bodies of nine women in Kempton Park and surrounding Ekurhuleni areas.
Despite multiple requests for comment to SAPS media teams at various levels and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department, the circumstances surrounding yesterday’s shooting have not been officially confirmed.
This report will be updated as soon as official comment is received.
- The video has been widely circulated on social media but is too graphic to publish.
