Mpumalanga man wanted in connection with brother’s murder
A man who was stabbed multiple times, allegedly by his brother, was found dead in a pool of blood.
Mpumalanga police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed his older brother in Magogeni near Malalane on Tuesday.
Mpumalanga News reports that provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane says the victim was identified by his family as Mphondzo Mkhatshwa (65).
“Police received information about a man who had been stabbed at the Magogeni Mhlaba Royal Kraal. Emergency medical services and the police were summoned to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that there was an argument between the siblings, and the victim was stabbed and he succumbed to the injuries. The suspect is said to have fled the scene thereafter,” she says.
Ndubane says a case of murder has been opened at Schoemansdal Police Station.
Police are searching for Elvis Mkhatshwa (44), who could be able to assist investigators with information. He is urged to contact the police.
