Mpumalanga woman struggles after attack
A woman who had boiling water poured on her face, allegedly by her partner, is still dealing with the physical and emotional scars.
Zodwa Ngwenya, a resilient 39-year-old, endured a torturous incident last year when a domestic dispute with her partner turned into a nightmare.
Her wounds have healed, but the scars, both physical and emotional, linger.
The evening in September began normally for Ngwenya and her children, but it quickly became distressing when her partner arrived home and an altercation erupted between the two.
She retreated to the bedroom where her children were sleeping in an attempt to protect them from the escalating fight.
Her partner’s wrath, however, escalated, and he allegedly dumped boiling water on her face and body, causing indescribable pain and suffering.
Ngwenya said: “I’m still struggling with my skin growing back, and the pain is unimaginable.”
The alleged attacker is now in police custody and is set to appear in court on Monday.
“I so wish that he rots in jail for what he did to me because now I’m struggling,” Ngwenya said.
