Municipal workers’ bodies found along Umdloti River

Mxolisi Kaunda, the mayor of eThekwini, extended condolences to the families.

The bodies of two eThekwini municipal employees reported missing during the floods two weekends ago, were found at Osindisweni near Mount Moreland last Thursday.

Search and rescue teams were alerted to the missing employees when their car was found abandoned at Osindisweni last Monday after more heavy rains lashed the coastline.

Search efforts had to called called off that day owing to the strong-flowing river.

The search continued by air the next day without success. Their bodies were only discovered on Thursday along the Umdloti River.

eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda extended his condolences to the families of the municipal employees, also thanking search and rescue teams for their efforts.
