A bouquet of red and white flowers and a rope noose hanging from a railway bridge in Esselen Park, Kempton Park, has alarmed motorists amid a recent spate of murders in the area, reports Kempton Express.

The mysterious display has prompted speculation about whether it could be connected to the recent killings.

The Kempton Express received a video this morning (September 18) showing motorists slowing down beneath the railway bridge along the R25, where the unusual display had been placed.

Several motorists have reported seeing the flowers and noose hanging from the bridge.

The display comes as police investigate the deaths of multiple women whose bodies have been found in and around Kempton Park and the wider Ekurhuleni area. Specialised units have been deployed to determine whether the cases are linked.

Nine women have reportedly been found dead in Ekurhuleni in recent months, with investigators still working to establish whether there is a connection between the cases.

Commenting on the Kempton Express Facebook page, several people said they believed the display was a message about the recent killings and a call to bring back the death penalty.

Ashley Morgan said the flowers represented the victims while the noose was a call to ‘bring back the death penalty’.

‘Flowers for victims, noose for the one responsible for deaths,’ Molly Mol said.

Other commenters described the message as ‘clear’ and ‘powerful’, while some said the noose was intended for the person responsible for the killings.

However, it remains unclear who placed the display on the bridge or what it is officially intended to represent.

Motorists are urged to remain cautious when approaching the area.
