N1 north collision claims one life
A fatal collision between a sedan and bus left parts of the N1 north closed.
POLOKWANE – One person is dead and two critically injured during a collision between a bus and sedan earlier this morning.
The incident happened on the N1 north between the turnoff to Solomondale and Bylsteel.
“It is reported the bus crashed into a stationary sedan, killing one person instantly. The driver of the sedan and another passenger were critically injured in the incident,” said Mike Maringa, the media liaison officer for the Department of Transport and Community Safety.

The road is open however, traffic is still heavily backed-up and motorists are advised to slow down upon approach.
Motorists travelling from Louis Trichardt to Polokwane can also divert onto the Munnik road before the tollgate and join the R81. This traveling from Polokwane to Louis Trichardt can use the R521 (Mogwadi/Dendron road) then turn onto the R522.
