N3 highway to be closed on Sunday to replace heavy-duty electricity cables
All lanes towards Johannesburg (northbound) and Pietermaritzburg (southbound) in the vicinity of the N3 Toll Route will be closed to traffic between 8am and 11 am on Sunday morning.
Motorists are warned to obtain essential traffic information before traveling on the N3 Toll Route this Sunday, November 4, as traffic congestion may be experienced between Hilton and Mooi River whilst Eskom replaces overhead power cables at the Petronet Substation near Tweedie and at the Midmar Pump Station, Maritzburg Sun reports.
All lanes towards Johannesburg (northbound) and Pietermaritzburg (southbound) in this vicinity of the N3 Toll Route will be closed to traffic between 8am and 11 am on Sunday morning.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) will stack heavy vehicles on either side of the closure and light vehicles will be diverted at Midmar (Interchange No. 103) Northbound and at Nottingham Road/Mount West (Interchange No. 132) Southbound.

N3 Toll Concession, responsible for the management of the N3 Toll Route between Cedara and Heidelberg, alerts motorists to plan ahead for traffic disruptions and delays.
The RTI will manage traffic accommodation during the closure and N3TC’s Route Patrol Teams will be on standby to provide further assistance.
