North West double murder accused abandons bail application
A husband who allegedly shot and killed his wife and stepdaughter with a hunting rifle will appear in court again in February.
Paul Prinsloo (61), accused of shooting and killing his wife and stepdaughter two weeks ago, abandoned his bail application during a brief appearance in the Brits Magistrate’s Court.
The murder case was postponed to February 20 for further investigation. Prinsloo officially applied for legal aid.
Prinsloo allegedly shot and killed his wife Magdaleen Prinsloo (58) and stepdaughter Ruzanne Weideman (31) with a hunting rifle on November 27 at their home in Kosmos, Hartbeespoort.
According to police, Prinsloo and the two women were involved in an argument before he fetched the rifle and allegedly shot them.
He was arrested on the scene shortly after the murders.
