Pirates announce backroom departures

The club bids farewell to one of its coaches as well as their head performance analyst.

The coaching duo of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids will not lead Orlando Pirates into next season with the club announcing the departure of Davids on Friday.

Davids was announced as the clubs co-coach after the departure of Josef Zinnbauer just before the start of the campaign.

After a disappointing season where Pirates finished sixth in the league and lost the Caf Confederation Cup final they have decided to make changes.

The club revealed the news with a statement on their website which read:

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has parted ways with Coach Fadlu Davids.

“Davids – 41 who joined the organisation in 2019 as an Assistant Coach, will leave the Club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month.

“Ever professional and always disciplined in his approach, Mr Davids leaves the Club having performed his duties in an exemplary manner. “

The club also confirmed the departure of head performance analyst Darian Wilken who is looking to become a coach.
