Police arrest suspect in Soweto teen murder

A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal panga attack of an 18-year-old boy, with the accused expected to appear in court this week.

Dobsonville detectives have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old boy.

According to Soweto Urban, the boy was allegedly attacked with a panga in Braamfischerville on June 2.

“The arrest was effected on Wednesday (June 3) following an intensive investigation by the detectives,” said Captain Tintswalo Sibeko.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (June 5).

Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
