Police recover 170 stolen flat screen TVs worth R1 million in Laudium, Pretoria

It is believed the goods might have been stolen in the Tshwane area.

The Laudium police have arrested three men suspected of stealing more than 170 flat screen television sets, Centurion Rekord reports.

The three, aged 23, 25 and 41, were found off-loading the suspected stolen items in Gem Street following a tip-off, according to Laudium police spokesperson Constable Simon Chokoe.

“During the arrest, police seized 143, 55-inch and 30, 40-inch televisions,” said Chokoe.

“The estimated value of the recovered TVs is R1 049 500.”

It is believed the goods might have been stolen in the Tshwane area.

Laudium station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Johannes Britz applauded the swift response of the police and the community for working closely with police.

“Together we can create safer communities,” said Britz.

He urged the residents to continue working with the police by reporting any criminal activity without fear.
