Preliminary results may see the ANC topple in Middelburg

Though vote counting has not been finalised yet, preliminary results indicate that the ANC will not reach a 50% slice of the cake, affording opposition parties the opportunity to unseat the ruling party with a coalition government.

• ANC – 32 997 total votes – 32.96%

• African People’s Convention – 55 total votes – 0.05%

• African Transformation Movement – 457 total votes – 0.46%

• African Voice Progressive Party – 58 total votes – 0.06%

• Bolsheviks Party SA – 37 total votes – 0.04%

• DA – 36 471 total votes – 36.43%

• EFF – 14 769 total votes – 14.75%

• Forum 4 Service Delivery – 144 total votes – 0.14%

• Independent – 53 total votes – 0.05%

• Middelburg and Hendrina Residents Front – 7400 total votes – 7.39%

• Moretele Independent Civic Organization – 89 total votes – 0.09%
