Pretoria rape victim (11) found wrapped in plastic

The girl was unconscious with the plastic she was wrapped in preventing her from breathing, when she was discovered.

An 11-year-old girl was rescued by community and security members on Wednesday after her alleged rapist ran off with her and wrapped her in plastic before he fled, nearly suffocating her.

According to Hercules Sector 4 CPF member Edna van Vuuren, they received a call about a rape incident on Wednesday at around 16:40.

The mother of the victim alleged that she found her child naked in the suspect’s room. The woman ran out of the room to call for help.

According to Van Vuuren, while the mother was calling for help, the suspect managed to flee the room, taking the child with him.

Police, LifeGuard Security and Uberwaschung arrived on the scene to help search for the girl.

Nico van Vuuren brought a tracking dog to assist in the search. The dog led them to a garbage dump where the mother spotted her child wrapped up in plastic.

Van Vuuren said that upon discovery, the girl was unconscious was immediately medically assisted.

“She was unconscious because she couldn’t breathe in the plastic bag.“

According to Van Vuuren, the medical team that was on the scene confirmed that the girl had been raped.

Meanwhile, the community caught the suspect and threatened to harm him.

“Police, CPF, and security companies helped to prevent the mob justice,” she said.

The suspect was arrested.

Police could not yet comment or confirm this information at the time of publication.
