Pretoria teacher missing: Police ask for public’s help

A relative of the missing woman says she is still missing, but that her ex-boyfriend was found dead by the police after he allegedly hung himself to a tree in Bronkhorstspruit.

The search continues for Boitumelo Maketsing Mabusela, a beloved teacher from Nellmapius in Pretoria, who went missing five months ago.

The 43-year-old was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend on February 2.

Silverton police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Isaac Mcunu, said this week that the police are continuing with the investigation to locate Mabusela by working with the public.

He said police plead for assistance in locating Mabusela.

Mcunu said the Nellmapius Ext 2 resident was last seen going to drop off her two children at school on February 2, almost five months ago.

Mabusela’s sister, Winnie Ramafoko, claimed her sister had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, and to date, her body has yet to be found.

“We want closure as a family, and help us find our missing sister,” said Ramafoko.

She said her the ex-boyfriend allegedly got into a car and drove with the woman and her children. According to her, the man drove a few blocks further where he dropped them off before leaving with their mother.

“My sister is still missing, but the ex-boyfriend was found dead by the police after he hanged himself in a tree in Bronkhorstpruit,” said Ramafoko.

She said her sister’s car and both their cellphones were found nearby but her sister was nowhere to be found.

Ramafoko said her sister was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light green top.

Mcunu stressed that there is no waiting period to report a person missing.

Anyone who has information on Mabusela’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Silverton Police on 012 845 4000, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or via the MySAPS app.

The family can be contacted on 060 775 1350.
