R1 beer party in Sasolburg: 2 killed, 1 injured over parking dispute
A 33-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed two men, while injuring a third, at the parking of Kwa-Nduna Shisanyama.
Two people were killed and one left fighting for his life following a shooting incident at Kwa-Nduna Shisanyama in Sasolburg, yesterday.
The shocking incident happened just after 01:55 in the wee hours when hundreds of patrons gathered for a R1 beer party in Zamdela.
According to eyewitnesses, an altercation over parking space ensued, and after a short while, gunshots rang and bodies dropped on the ground.
Following the incident, the shooter tried to flee the scene, however, police gave chase and apprehended the suspect.
The chase happened promptly as Kwa-Nduna lies a few meters from the doorstep of Zamdela Police Station.
Families affected
Sedibeng Ster spoke to Tshepiso Khomonngoe (55) who shared details of the incident that resulted in his son, 27-year-old Sello (27), being taken to hospital.

“I received a call from Sello’s siblings informing me that he was shot while he was out at a nearby nightlife establishment. What we understand is that my son and his close friend (Hloni) had a quarrel with a guy who bumped Hloni into a car. When they asked the man why he is bumping them, he took out a gun and started shooting,” he said.
Khomonngoe added that his son was shot four times in his lower body.
“He has four gunshots on his thighs. We are disturbed by this unfortunate incident and hope the man who did such an inhumane doing will be locked up and given life sentences,” said the grieving dad.
